Post

On a summers drive for miles and miles
I through godly kingdom ride
and count the post to realize
that passing time in all of life
falls into its passing stride.

Ease the pace from a blur
and that which wasn't noticed
comes to life and all's a stir
the space between  the post reveals
a  vastness that the pace concealed
smells and sounds come to life
and all's within my grasp to feel.
This consumes me in a poignant moment
and all the world but here stands still
as I embark on this adventure
of my stubborn concrete will.
for miles Ill travel without a glance
absorbing every feelings chance.

And now I stop to realize
that all of life provides the prize.
Nothing sweeter have I smelt
than that this moment passing dealt
nothing richer has been wasted
then to let a moment pass
I never tasted.
