In the eyes of children everywhere there is a reflection of our greatest need for a stable society. In the voices lingering small and softly spoken, there dwells a truthful innocence, respectfully timid of the decisions of those who rule their world.
The memories of a society based on a belief in Gods description of basic right and wrong are waning in our hearts, though they present themselves ever present in our thoughts, and still it's the children that will pay the cost of a lesson learned too late.
I cannot imagine where the children of today will find hope for the tomorrows that follow their play, or the answers they will need to light their path through this battleground of successes along the way.
The bodies strewn in the wake of this tragedy are those of children pushed into adulthood unprepared for the insecurity of a heart lacking in faith, unprepared for distrust in the eyes of a strangers, in the future of kindness, and unprepared for all that awaits them.
The only thing of worth we can call our legacy is that which we have taught to those who have loved and trusted our guidance as children. It is almost impossible to discern what caring advice will guide the direction of a child in need, but the effort, that show of concern, weather right or wrong, matters most of all and will be remembered when children stand tall.
If we but only try, perhaps we will be the lucky ones who receive their love in our twilight as a true reflection of the love we shed as light to those children of tragedy
